- Puerto Princesa Underground River Featured in Singapore Festival - The Philippine Embassy in Singapore reported that the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) took center stage at the Philippine pavilion during Singapore's twin celebration of Global Community Day (GCD) and World Parks' Day (WPD) 2011 on September 24 and 25 at Bedok Reservoir.
A total of 11 embassies put up pavilions at the event, which drew an estimated 8,000 visitors over the two days. Aside from the Philippines, the other countries represented were China, Finland, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, the United States, and Venezuela.
In line with the theme 'WaterFire,' the Philippine pavilion showcased the countries' beautiful volcanoes and water bodies, through a mini-exhibit of photographs taken by Pinoygraphers@SG, a group of Filipino photography enthusiasts in Singapore.
